You don't understand. You're in a race against time. Death will make everything you do futile so the only worthwhile goal is to escape it. In a sense, you're privileged - born just in time to have some hope for that. All the knowledge gathered by humanity so far is just meant to take us there and help us prepare society for the stage that comes after it, and the many problems that will follow. Your part to play in this transition is still not clear, but it is your job to find it out before it's too late.
