>The partisan tweets links to what he calls “real reviews.” Our reader receives them with an open mind. He is a reader, after all—a lover of language, ideas, and literature. He clicks; he reads. What he reads confuses him. Why is this review so short, a plain synopsis up until the last line, which offers only the faintest shadow of critique? Why is this one 12,000 words long, and mostly a review of three other novels? A third review seems to be a listicle, featuring the quotes he remembers from the jacket. Is this what passes for criticism today?

That woman is not attractive. If you're going to jezebel-poast, pick better women.

She's cute and chunky. Looks pleasant. What's not to like?

Fine article I guess, with an annoying tone. Forgot n+1 even existed. They're right that most book reviewers submit pointless, shallow, topical work for little pay, and readers are not the actual audience and have a right to be annoyed. But there are still major staff critics who praise dull books. She doesn't consider the possibility that most new fiction just is bland and worthless in its own right: what is anyone, well-paid or not, supposed to say about a new Sally Rooney that is not buzzy faux cultural criticism? That is what the books themselves present.

Do people even read "new" fiction? I haven't read fiction from this century since I was a little kid. (A lot of the writing talent has probably gone into film and television). Everything else I read largely 20th century or non-fiction.

I'll read Houellebecq, but that's about it.

I think most people who aren't on /lit/ and don't read YA/genre/etc. predominantly read new fiction.

If you're a reader you must also be retarded?

Ah I forgot about him completely! But I've only read Submission and Whatever, which are dwarved by my aforementioned readings. And those were pre-covid too so it feels like a decade ago.

The article misses the obvious solution, i.e.stop treating reviews as commodities. Let hobbyists write reviews and put them on their blog or whatnot instead of making it a gig. Honestly, too many writers try to make a job out of what should be their hobby.

She's incredibly overweight, at least by 30-40 pounds. That's not healthy, nor attractive. Look how round her face is. She shouldn't be carrying that much fat at all relative to her frame. You two must be Americans. Only Americans whose tastes have been perverted and negrified could find that attractive. She looks good for a fat girl, but she is still fat and she would look much better if she worked out.

Bitch looks ugly as fuck. Looks like an overweight Sarah Palin or the most annoying English teacher ever. Her pose is so self indulgent too. Doesn't she know she's fat and ugly?
Fags here will say
> But her bubbas :^(
Holy shit you niggers have no taste. This isn't some ren-faire where a maidens bosom excuses her for being overweight, smelly, and ugly. You faggot neckbeards should go back to one of those places or reddit honestly or get better tastes.
