I've compiled my own playlist of selected baroque pieces, which I enjoy listening too. You should check out this compilation of Purcell pieces. Thinking of making a music review blog idk

Yeah, music like this can be distracting but I've listened to it so many times that it becomes like pleasant white noise (almost sacrilegious I know) and sometimes I artistically listen to a song on loop for the better part of the day. Von Neumann is said to have disliked quite, doing all his work while music loudly played (to the chagrin of his collegues, notably Einstein). Someone on /sci/ made an image of this that I saved but I'm phoneposting rn and can't find it on the archives.
>guess ill fold some laundry instead.
As long as you get something done lol

I usually disconnect my headphones and put lute music on low, I used to listen to the big orchestral pieces but now I find them too intense and distracting. So yeah its either that or ambient music.

Only drone/minimalism bc it’s the least distracting.

>> No.18834173

I don't listen to music while writing or reading because the mind isn't capable of multitasking in they most people think. You're either not paying attention to the music which is a waste or you're losing focus on whatever the music is distracting you from. For some activities this small loss of focus won't add up to much but for reading and writing it becomes the difference. It's the sort of thing thing dumb people think smart people do.

I want to listen to music each time i read, but i find rather than putting me in a good headspace it just distracts me unfortunately. Sounds of rain might work however, or similar.

When i force it however, i put on something more ambient like
