Do you consider posters to be literature? I hope so :^) because this is a poster thread.

What do you have hanging on your walls. If you have no posters, what posters you would like to hang on your walls?

What information would you like posterized?

(I know this is barely /lit/, but it doesn't fit better anywhere else)

>> No.18531486

kys, you degenerate pleb. The posters are awful and gay. 99% of the time, posters just come off looking like a trashy attempt at being hip or having something akin to a quality painting.
Posters are not lit.

Well.... Posters are most deffinatly lit. They are words and images on paper. If you folded em in half you would have a book. Is basically a wall book.

Second point, yea 99% of posters are shit. But is the really any different than books?

If you think most posters are bad why don't we come up with some good ones? Not up to the challenge?

I dont do posters, im much more faggy. I've prints of my two favorite paintings that I framed hung up, a small painting my gf did of the Pequod (it's bad but her effort was too touching not to hang it) as well as one real painting of a shipwreck that an art gallery was selling. The closest thing to a poster I've got is a framed target from a gunrange where I shot a firearm for the first time.

posters are just paper tapestries/wall scrolls. the majority of info graphic ones are annoying in design with color choices and school room appeal style versus narrative focuses. maps, atlas, calendars being the exception.

I like that the Mod's updated the sticky to include /lit/ charts in it.
Nice quality of life update.
I don't say this often, but good job to the mods for doing that :)

The real elements thing seems a bit kitschy.

I would love to hang a map on my wall, but there is just nothing I'm my life that needs mapping. I guess I could hang a fantasy map, but that feels a bit childish.

Doesn't seem very readable, I don't like the colors, and I also think that t doesn't show all the relevant infos (valence numbers, electronegativity, etc)

This one also shows the the electronic configuration and first ionization energy (no valence though)

>inb4 too many numbers
The whole point of a periodic table is to show how much information possible in the tightest order.

I have a map of Medieval English, a 19th century style map of the island of Reunion and that weird old-school kind of illustration in which jesus casts the covid19-virus-shaped demons away upon my reading desk.

you could just have a local area map for roads or public transport. they're perfect for actual conversation topics with family and friends, especially in you live in a city.

the other option is star maps and posters with the constellation lore/stories which is great if your a night owl. those and gardening/almanacs are my go to, so the suggestion is heavily biased.
