/b/ when I was around wasn't exactly the golden era but it was still /b/. If you got here after 2014~ when /b/ was officially dead then you missed out on /b/-era 4chan which is what this site's culture mimics today, but it isn't really the same.
Main thing that bugs is me is bait (copy and pasting a mainstream opinion that's not generally agreed with here for (you)s) has replaced trolling (constructing an absurd viewpoint that is still somewhat believable for teh lolz).
Things are just a little more samey and boring. Part of that's just me getting older, but it's also the result of the site going more mainstream and attracting the riff raff and shill attention.
It' still not awful, and it's by far the best anti-social media site, but it ain't the same place I grew up in. Natural consequence of time, and some of it's probably for the best.
TL;DR I'm probably just getting old and out of touch.
