Christianity immediately solves the dilemma presented in Euthyphro. Plato is the man who, sent by god, readied western thought for the arrival of Jesus Christ.

secondary commentary books on this? christian commentary on plato generally?

the dilemma is easily solved. The good is whatever leads to preferable experiences. It is preferable to live the life empty of sin, so God tells us how we should live to improve our lives. There’s no dilemma here.

No, it doesn't actually. Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his own son shows he lives by divine command theory. In fact all of the Bible's morality is just divine command theory.

Only because what God commands is necessarily good for us due to the fact that he loves us. >>18314855

If it is good merely because God says so then it is Divine Command Theory. If God can change his mind like how he changed several of the old testament Moses laws in the New Testament then it is Divine Command Theory.

>merely
well it’s not so. The reason God’s command has worth is because of the consequences of not following it. Abraham knew it would be dumb to disobey God

The point is God wouldn’t command us to do something that harms us in the end

Kosher dietary laws make sense 3000+ years ago when it was difficult to get raw meat to 170°F. Circumcision makes sense when you're in an arid climate with limited access to bathing- it's better to lose your foreskin than lose your entire dick. Mixed clothing fibers was forbidden because the type of clothing a person wears was how you identified a foreigner in your lands. The mosaic laws would logically be changed with technological progress.
