i have an idea for a short story about a character who wakes up in a futuristic, endless burial ground. He doesn't know how or why he got there.

there are people that have been transformed into machines to avoid what ever killed so many. they are grotesque, malformed and seem to be in constant agony.

the main character needs to investigate where he is, why trillions of people seem to be dead and why why he's still alive.

does this idea suck?

What like you can walk all day in any direction and still be in the graveyard?

make the burial ground graves of all the jews who died in the holocaust. then the twist ending is that the main character breaks through the graveyard simulation, wakes up, and realizes it was all fiction: that th e holocaust didnt happen
