I got a bookshelf today to put all my small collection of books on. Now they don't have to be stacked next to my bed.

Bookshelf/Stack/Show Off Your Book Collection - thread

>>18128016
Absolutely brilliant! It definitely made me want to open myself to more Russian novelists other than Dostoevsky. My only complaint is that the translation can be kinda weird and stiff. But apparently, that's the tone translator Burgin & O'Connor decided to go with. I kinda want to re-read the other versions of it, but to my knowledge, those are based on a censored Russian version.

>> No.18128064

>>18128052
Yeah, the translation seemed a bit.. forces? idk.
Probably one of the funniest books I've read in a while myself though, with such a strange story.
That said I've never read anything else russian or from that time-period.

This is such a “useless” and “pointless” post. Everyone get a load of this fucking guy, singlehandedly trying to reform the board with his incredibly valuable posting. This guy is definitely not pissing in the ocean at all. You really have to wonder if he thinks his post will do a jot of good. What is his end goal? What change will be enacted in the minds of people who read his posts? Perhaps they will never post pictures of their books on a literature board ever again. That’s what this board really needs, less books. God forbid people share the books they own and talk about them to any degree. Everyone take note of this simian-browed dimwit as an example of someone to not be like. What a fucking jolt-head.

it's moon+ reader which i use because it's the only one i've found to have good page flip animations, even though it shows ads. the long screenshot is a feature of the default screenshot tool on whatever distro comes with xiaomi phones.
there's a lot unfinished because i get bored, or it just doesn't "feel" right.

same with tv shows e.g it took me like 8 months to watch nichijou and i've been watching star trek ds9 for at least 3. in high school i read crime and punishment to just barely before the confession and epilogue and only reread it to completion a few years later. i remember i read like 80% of the fountainhead and didn't finish it either. i was watching made in abyss last year and saw like 8 episodes and loved everything about it, still haven't finished it.
i have no idea why i'm like this.
