I'm a 125 pound 63 inches manlet, I've been doing karate since I was 7, and our school didn't separate on gender or weight classes for sparring. I have literally never ever not once, in over 26 years of sparring, lost a fight to a girl.
I'm not good, every time I try for a comp or an open I get wrecked, but within the schools I go to I'm usually above average, always was, so I got to fight a lot of black belts very early. Even when I was blue or green belt and I got to face one of the few black belts women who went to comp, I still won (it was, admittedly, a lot more challenging than most fights).
And this isn't me trying to claim karate is this great fucking martial art and a good way to judge fighting ability. Karate is way too fucking formalized for that, it is to fighting what modern fencing is to actual swordfighting. But it is formalized in a way that's supposed to help women (and manlets like me) participate in a "fighting" activity, *and women still get absolutely wrecked by manlets in these*.
