Libertarian socialism, or anarchism provide better models. I think Northwest Europe offers model of a kind of libertarian socialism albeit within a capialist framework.

It's impossible and not desirable to get rid of capialism altogether, it provides a positive stimulus and a measure of entreprenuerial freedom that can be curbed by collective interests.
