I recall a few weeks back on a thread about a book called Redemption Through Sin 1666 that was deleted, about a man called Sabbatai Zevi who declared himself the Jewish Messiah in and around the year 1666 and who had two thirds of the worlds population of Jews following him as a messiah at one stage.
