Has TV ever come as close as this show to being actual literature? This is a Great American Novel in its pace and development.

I’ve never seen the show but maybe you can answer a question for me?

Why is the board suddenly filled with questions like “Is the is anime/manga/movie/video game /lit/?” The obvious answer is “No.”. It’s literally not literature, as good as it might be.

>> No.17755238

I doubt it. Also, the circle jerking over Mad Men is pathetic.

Where do you see any circle jerking about it? If anything it's overlooked.

They're tourists who don't read and want to appear like they belong for a moment.

It's insecurity about the value of the medium they consume the most and the juvenile identification they feel towards it.

Not a tourist, faggot.

>>17755266
There are rarely any Mad Men threads on /tv/, so shut the fuck up. Sorry you missed out.

>>17755269
I asked a perfectly valid question nigger. If you actually watched the show, you would understand that - if you were to take the entire plot of the series, adapt it into written text, and release it in 1969, it would be considered a Great American Novel.

I understand where they’re coming from honestly. Yeah, there’s plenty of movies, anime, video games which can be really good, even profound. Hell, I have anime that I find as good as any novel. Still, they’re not literature, like obviously.

It’s quite annoying how literature has this reputation of being intellectual since it attracts so many brainlets looking for validation.

>> No.17755511

The Mad Men is just discount Sopranos.
It's still a great show though.
