Black people didn't choose to identify based on race. They were forced into this category. One of the reasons why colonialism and slavery were able to happen at all, is because Black people did not see each other as a single group, connected on the basis of "race" or color. That idea was totally foreign to them. They identified based on culture, clan, tribe, creed, and class. This is why some Africans were sold off into slavery by other Africans. Or why colonial rule was maintained by African administrators that the colonists selected.

"Black pride" only exists as a response against white supremacy, which has subjugated black people and fomented black shame. Black pride is the response to centuries of being treated as an inferior. It is meant to undo the psychological and cultural damage from the racist status quo.

"White pride" is beyond ridiculous. It is connected to a racist notion of white supremacy, and of identifying with a racial category, even when there is no need to associate with "whiteness" at all.

There is all kinds of ethnic pride. There's Irish pride, German pride, Italian pride, Jewish pride, Spanish pride, and so on. That's all fine. But "white pride" implies a racist worldview.

Racial pride in blacks results in civil rights and equality, racial pride in whites results in the slaughter of millions. This isn't hard.

Become a blue board, change the name to "Politics", instead of Politically Incorrect, and be a lit-ish board, in the same vein as /his/, being more focused in the political theory, political science aspect of things than in emotional and libidinal responses to flashy stimuli.

That is the way to make /pol/, and by consequence, this entire site, a little more respectable, specially because it's undeniable that /pol/ is the singular most influential board around here.
