To be blunt. I've decided to take a proper look at myself and I realized that I'm a fucking retard that doesn't know anything. I just need a chart or read order, some shit like that.
Philosophy, Political Philosophy/Theory, some Occult/Esoteric spiritual stuff would be nice too. Grammar and how to write a book would be nice as well.

Thanks /lit/bros

Textbooks are better than charts made by anons. Going to leave this here and do something else.

Look at the reading lists for Harvard's Gov 1060/1061 for political philosophy.

Get any book on any subject you are interested in, that book will often contain bibliographies or references to other books, then read whatever happens to pique your interest from that selection, and so on and so forth. Following guides and whatnot is not really very useful and quite often leads to an omission of context.

I'd say start with fairly easy fiction books. If you've actually NEVER read anything (could be possible if English is not your first language like me), I'd say go rn and read The KiteRunner (among the best book imo to be someone's "first book they ever read"), the A thousand Splendid Suns, then the Animal Farm, 1984 next, Metamorphosis after that. These books are fairly easy and will also keep you hooked. Extras are Lolita and The Firm by John Grisham. People might think that the books i suggested were so random and made no sense, but truly speaking, I wish someone told me these books when I started reading. I remember starting reading with a book so boring that even the thought of picking a book haunted me for the next 3 years.

I looked at it, could only find the 1061 reading order but nothing on 1060.
>>17519386
If I do that, won't I just get a very chaotic reading order and be confused throughout the whole thing, even with the bibliographies and references?

Thanks.

Also picrel.

If you can't read non-fictional or ancient texts. I'd recommend trying short stories or an anthology of stories or hell, get into poetry.

Short stuff will typically is the easiest way for people to read. I can attest myself.

That's the idea, that leads to actual thinking and forces you to learn how to hunt for information and synthesize ideas.

in all honesty this is the best way.

agreed.

If you get stuck on something pause and read a text that'll help later or look up information on it if u are really stuck or lazy.

There's a magazine called Philosophy Now which may or may not still exist but it's really good for a basic start into philosophy, and you can safely read it on the loo.
