I'm not particularly troubled by anything. It's like I wake up every morning, acutely aware of how meaningless, passive and useless my existence is. I'm a burden on everybody else and my absence is a gift. I'm completely lost. I dunno...
I guess I'm just another victim of nihilism

If you care that you're wasting your life, you still care about life. Embracing nihilism doesn't prevent meaning that comes from within the self, which you clearly have. Think about what matters to you, and act on it, even if it makes no sense.

That’s literally the plot of pic related. Plus, there’s two very good movies based on it (with the Norwegian one being superior).

I was in your situation a while ago and it was a very cathartic experience.

You really don't.
If you're like me (i.e. highly schizoid, but not socially stunted), your best bet is to "accumulate experiences" and "live for the moment", as roasties like to say. That means spending your time travelling, socialising, having sex, getting high or anything like that. The more socially rewarding, the better, since that's pretty much only accepted measure of value in the modern Western world.

But it's all equally pointless. The only non-religious reason to keep on living is to accumulate more pleasant moments than dull or discomforting ones.
The vast majority of people never achieve this, and even for the ones who do, it all means nothing and leads to nothing. People still make a big fuss about accumulating riches, but accumulating experiences is just as pointless. Once you die, the world dies with you.
In short: there is literally no point in life without religion. Family values used to offset the lack of religiosity somehow, but now they've withered away too.

Hope that wasn't too much of a downer. Pic related is a great read on this same subject, if you're still interested.
