Good literature, in my entirely unprofessional and unsubstantiated opinion/theory, is often the result of atypical thought patterns and brains - where someone's basic neurological structure is warped away from the general concept we have of "normal," it's more likely to be atypical in many ways than in just one. Sure, you could crap out some miracle child who feels an obsessive need to write of things their peers can scarcely imagine without him having any weird mental issues, but odds are your talented little sweetheart is going to be able to smell half a gram of coke from a mile away (& subsequently snort it from that same distance) and beat his dick to fat bitches' feet by the time he turns 15.
