Hi /lit/. I need help deciding on a translation for the Bhagavad Gita. Should I be looking for a more of a KJV style of translation or a more accessible version? What do scholars refer to when discussing the Bhagavad Gita, and what seems to be the /lit/ approved translation?
There seems to be hundreds of translations and I have no idea where to start.

Start with ISCKON and move on (You don't even have to read Srila Prabhupad's purports). You can usually find that edition really cheap. No need to be a pedantic idiot here: just read it. Who cares.

Personally, I carry this one around in my back pocket.
