Join as an officer with a law degree. You'll make better money than a new lawyer and gain experience so when you get out you'll be more marketable. I've been in for over 10 years and it's a good option if you need a few years to get shit sorted and figure life out. You'll make decent money, have healthcare, and job security while you figure out your next life goal.
