I don't listen to two-minute "songs" and I also never liked the music I love after the first listen. All of the music I came to love I was not inclined towards at first, but it was a matter of "such and such people consider such and such music the heavyweight of such and such subgenre, but it sounds bad to me, and instead of pretending as if everyone else is wrong, why don't I keep listening to it until I figure out what it is that they appreciate about it?" You don't figure out a 15-20 minute song on the first pass, or even the third or the tenth. That's a lot of material to digest. If I like something right away it's probably very simple to parse meaning it will leave me disinterested later as there's nothing more to puzzle out. Contrariwise, disliking something at first doesn't necessarily mean I don't actually like it, although a lot of the time it does simply according to tone or melody or formation, but I could also feel as though I dislike something according to simply not understand it, meaning it will have a depth for me learn appreciation towards in the long run. I know how long it took me to find all the music I like and through that experience I have the qualification to say that I'm done doing that kind of legwork for a very long time. I haven't actively sought out new music for over ten years and I don't even mind it a little bit.

For passive listening, typically Bossa Nova, classic Jazz, or romantic/impressionistic piano. Bola Sete, Hank Mobley, and Debussy (especially his preludes) stick out.
