Holy shit. I solved the problem /lit/. It’s not that you should be kinda reading more than one book at a time. And it’s not that just reading solved the attention span problem. It’s that you should rapidly switch between two books as soon as one starts to get boring. Training the mind to look forward to another book instead of looking at your phone. Constantly reading, but providing enough stimuli to keep it engaged. And any time you get sleepy or bored you just switch back to the other one.

Why did no one explain to do this? I’ve got so much of these two books read in the past 2 hours just by switching back and forth.

There was something similar to this in " make it stick" changing between subjects makes you learn better because it makes you recall when you pick the last subject again. Yeah I think might work with attention too.

I don't read boring books. Also, only boring people get bored.

At this point you should put down the books and go do something else. Mass literacy was a mistake.

Best way to study is for an hour then take a 15 minute break. You retain the first and last 20 minutes of whatever you're reading, so read 40 minutes and take notes and go over them for 20 minutes and then take 15 minutes rest.
