I’ve never been able to pick up the habit of writing notes even when reading heavy texts but I feel like it’d help. I honestly just never know what notes people take. Like is it a summary? Observations?

It depends. If I'm reading a reference or history book, I try to take down key points, it helps me remember them. I used to do this on the computer but reading in front of the screens are too distracting. I usually use a small notepad and then stuff the notes into the pages as I go, this is mainly as a cure for me so I do not write on the pages themselves.

I just read the same way in all the time:
>wooden chair at desk, alternating between sitting normally and a saddle stance to stop my bum from getting too sore

I've unironically been thinking about it for a while, popular music (not "pop music", anything recorded with modern technology/ equipment) and headphones especially allow us to live in a state of constant emotional catharsis that I think might be fucking our attention spans long term way worse than the oft blamed "internet/ social media addiction"

Music is such a big part of my life though, I listen to it to heighten every emotional moment, to give life to any dull one, etc. (Which is exactly the problem ik)

>Buzzing electrical wires, washed yellow streetlight nearby, swarming insects and bats feeding in full view

>hurricane lamp (quinque) for lighting the pages and for heat
>no need for music, jungle symphony of frogs suffices
>When sun rises—FUUUU IT’S MOSQUITO HOUR RUN INSIDE!
>stroll in the morning through the plantain and banana forest after an hour’s nap to beat the mosquito hour

Never thought about it but I agree. I do think though that listening to music all the time also robs it of its emotional power and catharsis. After listening to some songs a million times on the bus it stops having any effect.

I wasn't contesting your point that weed was for losers. I agree cannabis is the drug choice of the subhuman, as is any drug other than methylphenidate, the patrician's stimulant. My point is that all of those drugs are dangerous in comparison to meesly weed.
