>short: no point getting 300 pages into a long book and then bailing without anything to show for it on goodreads
>iconic OR aesthetically striking cover: for making threads

Yes, right, that's fine. I agree and I have a much hotter gf and you have to believe me cause it's the internet.

I'm asking why is everyone saying "sad story" and that she's a crazy junkie? Did she OD or do something wild to bring her to everyone's attention here?

Was the Queen of /r9k/ for a little while, countless beta orbiters frantically obsessing over her. She went dark after shacking up with a man in his late thirties. Some time later it was revealed she had died of a drug overdose.

I hope that the book entertains me. That is it. Writing and analysing has made enjoying most media dull. I know where everything is going. I know what tricks they are using. I simply want the book to be unique and carefully written like they actually gave a damn if it came out good.

Is this the girl that got stabbed in the neck? I can't find anything online about her except that she was a tiktoker and she OD'd
I've seen her pictures posted a lot, thought it was just typical 4chsn spergs obsessing over autistic looking girls.

when I still bought books from stores
1. find cover that interests me
2. open book to random page
3. read page- if I want to keep reading, buy. If I don't, put back.

since I bought an e-reader, and can download basically all books for free? Literally anything that catches my attention.

nothing. To be honest never read books, even for school assignments ive always just rewritten a summary i found somewhere on the internet and would actively take part in discussions pretending i know something about the book. Same with scientific papers i just read the abstract and then ctrl f the relevant thing i need for my paper although i guess that's how papers should be read.
I just come here for shitposting and arguing why Nietscheism and Existentialism are two completely different things.

Something new that I can't predict.

Which is why it takes me ages to find a new book to read. I've gotten to the point that if a book follows the hero's journey then I just trash it.
