Why is Jung so dishonest?

Many people that don't like metaphysics because they find It too confusing end up in a similar position. I'm not sure whether it can be explained by anything else besides a person's temperament.

20th century philosofags were almost all like that. Constantly making metaphysical claims despite being nominally anti-metaphysics. It was just their rhetorical strategy to smuggle their own metaphysics through the back door while attacking other people for engaging in metaphysics.
Wittgenstein, Heidegger, Derrida, early analytics, and so on.

He had to keep things grounded in order to keep his reputation intact, so he just played both sides. It worked rather well. There are Jungian atheists, Christians, and mystics today because of his ability to give occasional remarks about how natural selection might have brought about certain aspects of his beliefs.

any western rationalist who talks about consciousness and reality is a hack.
However, women will love him.

That's not really true for the early analytic philosophers though, neither Russell or Frege pretend that they have no ontological commitments. And even the logical positivists before them make it clear that they are committed to an ontology of sense data.

Lmao you haven't read him.

>> No.16098015

Every scientific man in order to preserve his reputation has to say he dislikes metaphysics. What he means is he dislikes having his metaphysics criticized

This. I am forced to conclude that Jung critics like OP have never read much Jung.

Though, to be fair, he is cited as an appeal to authority on all sorts of /x/tier bullshit, so I see why this happens.

Kek yeah, but there is a point that Jung believed his "psychology" was really just an appropriate consumption of the return of God to mans lives, healing him, helping him find salvation, and in a primitive sense which detracts from its true splendour, giving catharsis to the psyche, or the ego.

And I should say Jung fell into a more literal psychology when younger, but what I have said becomes more obvious in his later works. Where it was fully realised his literal mission from God. Whether you want to rely on this pic or not is irrelevant, the point of his life is true. Seeing the carnal end to his fathers Christianity, he will reverse this, like a feathering bird fly down from the wind-ing Sun and warm mankind, help him, save him.
