Can we make essential /lit/ reading list 2020 ?
I feel like everyone is reading different books, so its difficult to discuss about anything.

List for 2020 books? Or new list of books from any period?

Why? The vast majority of books worth reading were written before the current year or even this decade. The charts already cover them. There are hundreds of charts (quite literally) on as many topics. There are chart threads almost daily. Anons supposedly buy or download and read some of those books, and yet, start any thread about a book or an author on any chart, outside the handful of most discussed writers (mostly entry level), and it's almost guaranteed to die very soon. A thread about an "obscure" book with 20 replies would be considered popular.

The reason why it's difficult to discuss (fiction) books is because very few fags actually read or care to discuss what they read instead of baiting, shitposting or wasting their time in non sourced /phil/, eceleb and /pol/ threads. The few with an IQ high enough to discuss are biased towards nonfiction (either from college experiences or memes). It's sad but /pol/ and pseudo /pol/, for one reason or another, has completely displaced universal literature. Fiction in /lit/ is dead. No chart is going to bring that back. Just wait a couple months for the top 100 poll.

Maybe this has moved to discord. Maybe I'm just jaded of a terrible Sunday with a torrent of shitty threads. Idk. Today I checked the arthouse thread on /tv/ and found they have a Mega folder with hundreds of books on film making. /Lit/ was supposed to be better but nu/lit/ doesn't care.

why do you feel the need to pass on such eye cancer. this is a horrible list and without going to deep into one can see that most (if not all) of these books are ideology-driven.

Sure, yes, some were, but they were also self-reflective. (Take note, fellow anon, I do not critique these hyped books, I avoid them.)
