Also Taleb's premise like most IQ-dismissive people is one that puts too much emphasis on the problems of it regarding above standard deviation IQ.

But what no one ever can refute (and is actually the problem), is that below standard people will 100% have difficulty, lower-potential in life.

Someone who is 130 IQ might not become an astronaut, no (because of the myriad factors involved). But someone who is 85 never could.

The dismissal of IQ talking points are always based around this. When the biggest problem that people are concerned with is why aren't 80-90 IQ average populations living up to 100-105 standards.

Whether IQ measures well is another question, but it definitely measure something that all intelligent people have in common. It's just not the only factor, and probably not the only aspect of intelligence.
