Stirner’s entire ideology is, itself, a spook—and would lead to extinction of everything we love and hold dear in life, even our lives ourselves, and yet people here still think it’s “Based.”

I would honestly prefer Buddhism over Egoism; essentially, the entire eradication of the ‘self’ seems much better than the pursuit of fickle self-interests perpetuated by the ego in the first place.

I know some people try to take Egoism to the next level, but it just doesn’t work. The ancient knowledge and sciences through religion, whether it be Abrahamic or Dharmic or anything in between, is of much more value in terms of sustenance compared to modern ‘philosophies’.

I know people like Nietzsche think Christianity is a slave religion, however the case is that only Christ can save us. The eradication of the self, or the constant struggle for the satisfaction of the self, has hitherto been the best case against Christ: however, it has not worked. Christ has prevailed, and Christ will continue to prevail as is Christ’s nature. The modern century philosophers has crucified Christ and laid Him in His tomb, it is now time for Him to rise again. "Boogeymen" would be another word for the same idea that we're more familiar with (and doesn't have racial connotations).
Stirner's "spooks" are things/ideas we fear and trust and obey, but these ideas only exist in our minds, and are often things that we created by ourselves. Something like "duty to one's country" would be a spook. Your country (insofar as legal borders) doesn't really give a shit about what you do, let alone even ask or imply that you should do something for it's sake, yet many people are so haunted by this spook that they feel like they "owe" their country something (beyond taxes and legal behaviour) just for living in it.

Personally, I think the first part of Stirner's ideology--spooks--is a great concept, but the second part, the union of egoists, is highly flawed. Stirner's egoist anarchism works best if you preach it for yourself but preach collectivism for everyone else--as long as the collectivism works in your favor that is. This is what I follow: deceive others into believing spooks but only if those spooks benefit your own ego. Do not attempt to make a "union of egoists", make a "collective" where you are the king.

People love to do invest desire in social products like gender, nationalism, moralism, family etc etc, and Stirner doesnt say for you to just throw all those concepts into the trash he just warns you to be "conscious" about it, strip the holiness from them and not let them stand in your way if your desire is elsewhere.

A spook is any "should" that is thrown at you from someone else. Stirner doesnt tell you to hate the family, the nation and all that jazz but to not be imposed by those things. Choose and invest desire in anything you like.
