How to stop being a pseud?

Talk less and read more. After you read more, talk with people who aren't pseuds. And talking to people on 4chan doesn't count.

Essentially, this. The fool speaks first.

If i were to elaborate i would just come off as a pseud. Putting more thought on how to not be a pseud would only make you more of a pseud.

Always be as concise as possible. If you are not intelligent you will come off as an average person. If you're incredibly smart/well read your intellect will still shine through. This way you avoid becoming an excessively verbose wanker that takes forever to get to the point so they can show off their vocabulary.

Not anon, but it's about honesty. A pseud pretends to understand something in order to win ass pats. A non-pseud only accepts pats for things he actually understands.

The way to actually avoid being a pseud is just to be realistic about your own intelligence. A pseud is someone who thinks they are smarter than they are. If you have an accurate understanding of how intelligent you are, you can't be a pseud, no matter how florid your language is or how pretentious and stuffy you are or anything else.
How do you figure out how smart you are? Compare yourself to every person you meet. Are they more intelligent than you? Since this is anonymous, I'll be honest. I consider myself one of the smartest people I've ever met. Easily top 10, probably top 5. But I've met several people that are definitely more intelligent than I am, in the areas in which I am intelligent. It's easy to tell–they can solve the same types of problems that I can solve well, faster than I can. When I explain one of my ideas to them, they can understand the core idea before I'm done explaining it. That sort of thing.
Of course, the problem is, the willingness to admit other people are more intelligent than you isn't a product of intelligence itself, it's just a personality trait. It's a product of your upbringing, most likely, and how much pressure you put on yourself to succeed. I don't pressure myself in much of any way, so I don't care if people are smarter than me; if anything, I find it to be a relief, especially if they're otherwise reliable people.
