I live in a mansion. No I’m joking, I live in a castle the greatest and most spectacular castle in all of the world. I have countless people working around me around the clock. It is my guess that my father in the high tower told them to ignore me for a smile or a quick nod is all I receive from the only people that I know. The kitchen is 3 miles away. There I ask for a piece of fish in a small fruit before going back on my way. I spent the winter in the north wing tower near fireplace binge eating on local pastries and starvation meals, despite being well fed from morning till night. The clouds have parted and the sun has shown me what neglect has fallen upon me by my own hands. I walk nude around the garden feeling all the winter should from my skin drop by drop. This morning the church bells rang and inside dishwashers and chimney sweeps kneel before the pictures of my father. A child looked back at me in for a second I figured it out.

Jesuits always sound cool until I remember how they're trying to make the church as progressive as possible
How did that happen historically? I feel like the perception used to be that they were extremists willing to get violent, always being the ones wrapped up in crazy conspiracy theories where they're built up as spies and assassins controlling the world and shit

>Jesuits always sound cool until I remember how they're trying to make the church as progressive as possible
It's this way NOW but it might not be that way forever. The future of the Catholic clergy is inscrutable, including the jesuits. As someone in the know once put it, Catholicism is going implement the same modernist policies until the Silent Generation Hierarchy dies out, since THEY are the ones which personally invested in the Vatican 2 reforms. No one knows how the Boomers are going to run things once silent gen dies out, and this will happen in the next 1-2 decades. I don't necessarily think the boomers clergy is going to be more reactionary, but post-boomers certainly will. It seems like most people who have chosen to become priest in the last 20 years are of a right-wing persuasion, which should be understand. Leftist don't have the will or ability for the same kind of entryism they employed in the mid-20th century. If you're a leftist, there are so many more profitable and easier paths than spending 10 years in college joining an organization like the Catholic Church. To my point, here is a picture of new Jesuit ordinations from 6 months ago. I don't have any reason to suppose these peoples are particularly progressive, although there is no way to know for sure. I know at my local parish, our new priest is conservative and borderline trad. A lot of Catholic Clergy I follow on the internet are also rightist, although this might just be selection bias.
tl:rd I don't think the future of the Catholic Church is progressive, insofar that I don't think the fresh blood is progressive.
>How did that happen historically?.
Probably because they formed in the age of Catholic Humanism, and used cutting edge technology which gave them a more progressive bent.
>I feel like the perception used to be that they were extremists willing to get violent, always being the ones wrapped up in crazy conspiracy theories where they're built up as spies and assassins controlling the world and shit
these were always memes.

Good post.

In general I think that anyone who is pessimistic about the Catholic Church, who thinks the Church is "doomed", has not really dove into the weeds of what's actually happening on the ground. The Church's renewal will come from good Catholic laity, good Catholic families, good priests, good monks, and good nuns, and there's more of all of those these days than there have been in decades. They haven't started to have a MAJOR impact yet, but that's because the renewal is in its really early days. The really positive signs aren't even a decade old yet, and it takes a very, very long time to change the Church. But I actually feel extremely hopeful about the future of the Catholic Church. I think the past 100 years or so was so corrupt and so wicked that it's on par with the Renaissance or the Arian Heresy. But I think the Church is on the verge of beginning to swing into a period of serious reform and renewal, EXACTLY like it did after both the Renaissance and the Arian Heresy. The Church always reforms from its evils, in the end. It dies to sin and is reborn anew.

I hope so. I think we're literally in the new pagan era (and not because of autistic neopagans but the general lack of morality and spirituality the modern world faces). The weird thing is though, it's the most developed parts of the world facing this problem. In the 2nd and 3rd world, the Church is growing fine. It's just that the Faith has been so watered down by modernism in the Americas and Europe that we might have to go back to the Patristics in order to get the tools we need to fight this new spiritual plague.
