They will do whatever they can to belong to the group. You see this very frequently with /pol/tards who constantly shout anyone down they disagree with, because they're lonely and the group will reject them if they don't. These are, against all appearances, supremely agreeable people who will do whatever they can to be involved in their own group.
There are also intrinsically religious people, who follow an ethos of a group because they feel it benefits them personally in some way. Because /pol/tards are defined by what they despise, and nothing else, you will not find anyone interested in bettering themselves in this group of people. The best course of action in terms of dealing with them is as yet undetermined. But, when there are a lot of retards in one group, it can be very useful to give them a timeout until they calm down. Maybe there's something to be gleamed from that approach?
