The Christian Right was always doomed to be destroyed by capitalism, which is what Reagan knew and why he courted them in order to win the election. He knew that if he could associate capitalism with being a Christian conservative, Christianity and conservatism would die, but capitalism would live. You should first come to terms with the idea that both sides overwhelmingly have only the best intentions of everyone at heart. Unfortunately, especially among the most extreme people on either side, their best intentions have given way to hate, and among the small amount of truth either side speaks on is a mountain of hate and unexamined untruth.

Books that helped me de-radicalize myself were Mill's On Liberty, Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, and Haidt/Lukianoff's The Coddling of the American Mind. On Liberty in particular encouraged me to expose myself to other viewpoints, and I read The Bell Curve and White Fragility. Open yourself to opposing viewpoints, even knowing you won't agree with them. Remove malice and ill-will from your mind. Have conversations with people.

To not adhere to either one is not centrist; it is only to be independent from dogma. Examine everything and take truth from what remains strong. Inflammatory and used to further a bunch of retards agendas, but the statistics and studies were valid and of academic caliber. It's not useful just for its stats anymore considering how old it is, but most studies pretty much find in line with what The Bell Curve found. A 2015 study whose authors I can't remember did finally claim to have a list of variables that led to equitable outcomes between blacks and whites.
