This, the inner-monologue is slow and those who use it have their psyche limited by the nature of language.
The meme has a point, in that the full cerebration is impossible to articulate, a maelstrom of abstractions and forms which even the most articulated prose doesn't ever fully do justice.

I think it's more likely that those without internal voices are like NPCs who can only react to outside stimulus, they are like a pinball bouncing around their environment.

This and also pic related. I don't usually have an inner verbal monologue. The only reason I ever subvocalize my thoughts is to play out an argument in my head (I'm socially anxious and I've used this as a calming ritual). My thinking has gotten so bad sometimes that I skip entire words and phrases mid sentence when having conversations. I dissociate from what I'm saying or writing and run the entire chain of thought to its logical endpoint before I've gotten to articulate myself properly.

Like this, OP.

>> No.15661256

The true intellectual choice is to give yourself schizophrenia and create a variety of voices in your head that all have different worldviews and voices and argue all the time.

>> No.15661345

I've personally chalked it up to extreme introvertedness or some kinda sensory processing sensitivity (might be the same thing, but I've yet to read anything that definitely connects the two concepts). Essentially autism, but without the permanent retardation. I know I can focus outside myself and learn to be "normal" with some effort, but it drains me to all hell since it runs counter to my natural inclinations.

Does everyone have an inner voice? Like could it happen that someone doesn’t have it?
