This sounds like capitalism to me

How can it be capitalism when it doesn’t involve the ones at the top rigging the game in their advantage

Mao used the Hundred Flowers campaign to identify opposition and then eliminate them. It was either a stratagem from the start to ensare opponents, or it was a mistake quickly put to good use as evidence gathering to annihilate dissent.

>free market or free enterprise
Freedom of exchanging ideas isn't capitalism dude. Capitalism requires making surplus value off the fact you own means of production that your hired workers actually use in their labor, or surplus value off the mere buying and selling for profits, or worse, surplus value off lending and taking back, or owning fluctuating stocks, or market speculation. Capitalism is about making profits in ways not related directly to your labor, but to owning something and being in a position of power to charge extra or pocket money that should go to the workers.

The Hundred Flowers refers to refers to a specific 1956 period of liberalism that preceded the Anti-Rightest Campaign of 1957-59 which used evidence gathered from the Hundred Flowers campaign's solicitation of alternate views to purge the CCP:

People like you who see politics only through the perspective of capitalism vs socialism have their worldview tainted by humanism
