The Brooklyn Follies. Someone left a copy of it in my bf's hallway, and as Carola made me lose my job, I'm picking through the few books on my shelf I haven't yet read. It's actually quite nice. It's easy to read and very domestic in what it tells.

Moby Dick - Herman Melville

I'd read it in middle school but ended up skimming it once the chapters about whale science started. Figured the /lit/ read along was good enough reason to go back to it and properly finish it.

Perdido Street Station - China Mieville

Convinced my wife to read and discuss a book together and let her pick first. Pretty good so far.

Many different purposes and ends in life, my friend.

To expand my knowledge of the world is one. We are always learning, from the moment we are born until we die. There is so much to know.

I really only spend about one hour reading every day though, just FYI. Don't waste your life reading either ! :3

Yeah, it's me being interested in learning more about those five things. The five chains of books are sort of related, I'm trying to continue chronologically somewhat.

The main interests are all separate, but sometimes I do try to plan it so that what I'm reading at the same time is related. It's more fun that way.

It's all done purposefully, including planning my time so I'm not wasting too much of it reading.

You would be surprised, my friend. After all, Ptolemy wrote the Almagest AND Tetrabiblios, one is concerned with the physical phenomena, the other with the spiritual.

Only until recently were these really divided. I'm also interested in this division and why it occurred. I'm not a fan in your mentality, for instance.
