None of the books mentioned here are really that deep and /lit/s taste isn't that refined. It's mostly spamming people like Nietzsche and Guenon who are a step above Camus, sure, but this isn't exactly the most esoteric or groundbreaking place to discover literature, especially contemporary.

This. Everything everyone says is an exertion of Will to Power. Marx initialized this analysis through the lens of the power and exploitation associated with capital, which is the primary form of power-exertion in society. But Nietzsche and the pomos completed it with respect to all other social relations.

Everything is power bro. Me telling you this is power, I am attempting to will myself onto your question and your thoughts, and on this board.

In some ways I respect fascism because we're all fascists and least fascism is honest about that

Fascism isn't honest, or rather, nationalism isn't honest. Nationalism is just another ploy for power, not for a "nation," but for a man who can convince others he is the nation. Likewise, the will to power is independent of political system, since any system can be gamed. This only makes fascism less honest.

>> No.15242689

>>15242620

But the entire point of the nation is the exercise of power both externally and within itself. It more readily satisfies the typical reactionary citizen's will to power than liberal democracy

>> No.15242728

>>15242689
Power is simply, if you say jump, who says how high? A "nation" can't exercise power, because a nation is what one exercises power over. It's the elites who have power, and words like fascism and liberalism are modes of the exercise of power. I'd think this would be obvious, since fascism is known for its elites: Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Hirohito, Pinochet.

>A "nation" can't exercise power

That's where you're wrong, bucko. The higher authority lends itself to individuals' will-to-power. In the same way religion might - it need not only be abused by the highest up in the institution itself but by anyone who uses it at any level to exert power over others. i.e. when we become a fascist theocracy and I honor kill my whore sister for premarital sex with the authority bestowed onto me by the nation.

don't read critical analysis of a text before you read the actual text. Read and parse it yourself, maybe even reread it before you venture out and read the surrounding texts. What someone might call a misinterpretation of a philosophical text for example, could really just be a reinterpretation or new application of the ideas therein. Reading complementary texts before you are familiar and conversant in the source text will just railroad you into the canonical interpretations.

Books generally are terrible gifts that say you have the audacity to make demands of people's leisure while not in their presence. Do not ever lend books unless the idea of it turning into a gift is fine, you're not ever getting it back. Speaking about literature with people with zero composition skills is futile.
