i love how philosophers always bring up shit about newton et al being philosophers as well as scientists. what is your point?

they were philosophers because it was believed that philosophy was a science, then they realized the two could be separated and are in fact different things.

oh and btw once upon a time Philosophers and Scientists and Alchemists were one and the same thing

Actually today the word philosophy is used in very wide context.

e.g.
Philosophical discussion: Something that pertains to concepts than reality

Philosophy of life: The ideals one sets to lead life

PhD: lolwut?
