What do I need to read before diving into this guy? I've read some of "The Mystery of the Grail", and it has me intrigued a lot, but I want to know if there's anything I need to read beforehand - whether it be essential or non-essential.

Give it to me straight - is he a /pol/ meme or not?

I don't think so.

You have to master the art of candle meditiation and mountain climbing before merely gazing on his countenance, less his written works

Already got that down, so what next

Unironically read Guenon

No, he's actually very worthwhile. /pol/ are mostly MIGA neocons now anyway, they probably have no idea who he is.

>>15205372
Based.

Should I just follow this chart, more or less?

>> No.15205799

>>15205289
No. It doesn’t actually make that much sense why /pol/ likes him so much. Here, you get a lot of very poor analyses and memes by people who either don’t read him or have an agenda.

>> No.15205846

>>15205289
/pol/ hasn't read him, at least not beyond a superficial "muh white pagan nationalism" level, so no.

He did not believe in any biological concept of race, so no.

He isn’t really difficult to understand just dive in

>He did not believe in any biological concept of race, so no.
Yes Evola was opposed to the purely biological notion of race but that doesn't mean his model of race ignores biological factors. His model is tripartite race of the body, race of the soul and race of the spirit.

>> No.15206929

>>15205289
No only a small minority of people on /pol/ have actually read him and recommend him. That said obviously the sort of people who like Evola tend to be "right wing"

>> No.15206974

>>15205265
Read Handbook of Traditional Living by Raido, it's a short overview of Evola's thought, especially Revolt (Mystery of the Grail started as the appendix to Revolt but was expanded).

He believed in a biological concept of race, he just didn't see it as the most decisive factor in our times. See >>15206902.

Start with Meditations on the Peaks; it will remove misconceptions about him, and it is short. Then you may read Grail.

>>15205289
No one on /pol/ has read Evola.

>>15205524
You read both Guenon (pbuh) and Evola.

False.

There is a chart for Evola too, I havent read him yet though so I cant vouch for his chart.
That Guenon chart was very good though, ive gone through his first four books critiquing modernity

>> No.15207894

>>15207885
This chart is kinda retarded
There's no point in starting from the Grail since Revolt was written before it.
Might as well start from the path of the cinnabar or theory and phenomenology kf the absolute individual, which is his most philosophical and rational work before he became a traditionalist
