at 23 it's impossible to have the life experience and insight that great writers have

without that you cant write anything good and get through the publisher gauntlet

I don't see why mathematics and writing would be mutually exclusive. Attend to university for mathematics, write on the side. If you're really feeling like it, take a few courses on writing or literature.

>> No.15129608

>>15129435
If anything it's too old to become a writer. I'm almost 23 and didn't start seriously writing until less than a year ago. What pisses me off is that I had been writing intermittently for like 8 years before then, but I didn't have the motivation to really practice it and work to get better. I have that motivation now, but it feels like it's too late and I mourn the time lost. It kills me to think about where I could have been by now if I hadn't been so lazy.

Wtf is w all the responses in this thread? NPCs be like:

>Thinking? Imagination? What's that?????

Just use your imagination, think of good stories and cool plots. Invent cool characters and concepts and write on what interests you.

Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein when she was just 18.

You are never too young or old. What I would suggest is the following:
>Buy a book on screenwriting or storyboarding.
>Read novels of similar genre with a critical eye re techniques
>Have idea of direction your plot is to go in
>Collaborate where possible

This.

Maybe. You'll seem naive and impressionable to a lot of people who can see through your influences and you'll probably cringe at it when you're older.
