I have two friends who like reading. We go to the same uni and we would often talk about literature in restaurants and cafes. They went back to their hometowns because the uni is closed. We talk online but it's not the same. We don't smoke cigarettes together anymore.

No "Write wahts on your mind" thread so Im posting my cringe here.

Begin with a great open space. The cool air is illuminated by pale sunlight and sparse drifts of clouds break up its vastness. Below is the blue ocean. Sun warmed rocks breach the sea and thunder rumbles on the distant horizon. The invisible face which once glided above the waters is now strangely absent. As more clouds role in and the caps of the waves crest on themselves forming sharp points and tumble and turn white. The sea becomes deep and dark and the sunlight dims behind flat iron cloud formations. Sitting on the dock, watching this scene to the sound of boats and buoys rubbing and splashing against each other and the waves, watching the greying of the harbor, the heaving of great unseen momentum, I get the strange sensation of being like cold stone. The horizon blurs beneath heavy grey clouds and mists of rain reach down into the tumultuous sea. I remember past Springs. Emerging flowers and sunlight pushing away the Winter's bite. In the field by the train tracks with the girl from my school, walking down the neighborhood streets beneath blossoming trees to the shop that sold ice cream. Lightning cracks and the trees bend in the wind. Hard darts of rain burst on the surface of waves and clatter against the boats. It has become like dusk and the people pull on their hoods or hurry inside the buildings. Some shout to each other but their voices dull and blend into the racket. A seagull squawks nearby and thunder rolls heavily overhead. I suppose I should head inside before I soak through. I still have much to do. Standing up, the scent of evergreen trees cuts through the salty air. But for a moment, I thought it was cut grass. I head inside. The door creaks, and when it is closed the rains patters loudly against the glass of the window. It is cold.
