I know I believe in God and want to be religious, but I refuse to be an abrahamic cuck. What should read to know where to put my faith?

read the fabled Rene Guenon (pbuh) and soon enough in your heart there will be the dawning of a warm light which will illuminate your intellect, evaporating any illusions residing in your mind and revealing to you the truth of God. You can find his first book which you should begin with along with all of his other books here too, good luck brother.

glad you liked it, man. i dont usually save horse paintings (they mostly look unhorsey even if excellently executed) but this one displays such sheer force and elegance, even the human figure.

"God" isn't the name for a cosmic personality, it's a designation for absolute reality. The very phrasing of your sentence "I know I believe in God", already evinces an alignment with the Judeo-Christian perspective, where "God" (or Yahweh) is the literal name used to identify a metaphysical entity hiding behind a veil of reality and which requires your "belief" in it, also known as faith.

What you need to do is read actual metaphysics, and come to decide what specific curation of "God" makes the most sense for you. Is it the Hindu Brahman, pure infinite consciousness which dreams the universe through existence, sustenance, and dissolution? Plato and his Forms, which represent the unchanging intelligible essences underlying our temporal sensory datum? Spinoza and his particular monistic conception?

The word "God" by itself is meaningless, it's a historically-born and culturally-local concept like any other. If you're from the West, then your specific version of that concept will likely be the Judeo-Christian deity. If you're from India, and depending on which religious sect you were raised under, it will be a very different notion. Your task is to determine which one you resonate with most, and to then live in accordance with it assuming such a lifestyle exists.

Your priorities are fucked. Religion follows conviction. If you've already decided you want to be religious, and you want a religion which will suit your tastes, but you don't know what you believe or even why you want to believe, you're not actually pursuing God - you're pursuing fashion.
