Greece and Italy haven’t produced anything very special in 2000 and 600 years respectively, and the best literature from the Iberian peninsula is written in Andalusian Arabic. France is better, but not by much. Germany, for philosophy perhaps, but Goethe is on his own in fighting for literature. Russia and England are should be tied for first place.
