Everymans library is garbage version of modern library but I like some of their editions. Oxford world classics are made of wet toilet paper but good critical apparatus and translations usually. Norton critical is crit. I don't have any Fischer. Modern classics? read classics or read moderns. Pick a side you fucking centrist.

I'm not from an anglo-country and bookstores only have pulp shit in English. I have to rely on Amazon and their edition selection sucks, so after I got an Everyman's edition once and liked it I started looking for them when buying other books.

I really want to read this but I feel like it may take up my reading for the whole year while there are many other books I want to get on to. Can I just read the Confessions for now? And tell me about the City of God, is it as massive a book as something like the Republic?

Urbanomic sure has talented stylists that fully understand sissy-hypno aesthetic. Anyone care to explain why?

>> No.14793003

They're pretty good :p I only compare them to modern library due to the similar price point, cloth binding, and relatively thin paper. Modern library is smaller and therefore feels sturdier... for example I wouldn't throw an everyman in my hiking pack. But if you arent rough with books then not a lot of difference other than size.

Your insular community of acc/twitter nerds are not necessarily going to have a 1:1 intellectual/aesthetic semblance with a publishing house in Cornwall just because you like bandying the word “sissy” about. And besides, I have no reason to accept your sources as reliable. Those revered internet “intellectuals” of yours are not a particularly good authority to fall back on either. That’s why I said your language was ideological- you’re parroting an idiom that stems from a very specific culture and perspective that most people haven’t even heard of.
