structurally, each post is like one segment of the interminable series of offices and bedrooms and seedy little hidden anonymous zones they describe in the Kafka book, all rubbing up against each other and woven through with tunnels of shared references + voices + arguments.

Behaviourally, no other site is as good at generating stupid energy-draining traps for the movement of desire (canon arguments, meme authors, omnipresent ressentiment, fixation on certain hated archetypes.)

4chan is a root/tree hierarchy of homepage > board > thread > post, with some capacity to form local instances of rhizomatic structure through inter-reply, inter-thread, or inter-board reply-linking
You're also very mistaken in assuming that a lack of clear purpose or end-goal of function isn't at all a disqualifier from being considered a rhizome (quite the contrary, in fact)
