Why are there multiple threads on this board right now that aren't actually about books, but are just about people wanting to vent their feelings and using books as a fig leaf?

Like these:

>>14681694
>>14681032

These threads aren't about books. These threads are for disgusting escapees from /r9k/ to whine and bitch about their pathetic lives. Why are these threads tolerated? Why aren't they deleted within an hour of their being made? Why is our moderation so trash?

The patrons of the site see no reason to differ the influence operations for this board. The same recipes applied to /r9k/ and /pol/ are applied here because the audience is not so different as to require a distinct approach.

From August up until some time in January, 90% of the catalog was the same (literally the same thing copy and pasted) shit-flinging political, philosophy, e-celeb bait threads daily along with pornography and blogposts sprinkled between those bait threads. It was terrible. Call it obsessive but I went through the catalog a few times throughout the months, tagged every thread that was shit, and only about 30 of the 150 threads would actually be vaguely on-topic and non-bait. This was the standard. This was when people WERENT intentionally spamming Guénon.
"Any books for this feel?" used to be a common thing to add to the ends of off-topic posts, but I believe they made this phrase auto-sage threads because I made multiple posts about this throughout the months. (You're welcome people).
This board as of now is much better than it was a few months ago. I'm sure you could find some of my catalog screenshots of you look in the /qa/ archives if you don't believe me. (It's still shit, but it's at least less shitty.)

I didn't make this specific thread, this was somebody else. Still paints a good picture of what the situation was like. This dude did the easy work of finding all the rule-breaking threads and not a single one of them got deleted by the mods.

An example of the content allowed during this era of /lit/. Literally anything was allowed as long as you mentioned "book."

Threads ordered by reply count.

At this time, the majority of the threads were just some greentexted words along with a soijak. Thank god the soijak meme has been dying down as well.

That's every board on 4chan. Enjoy your stay. Don't like it? You can go back to readit then

It's the same shit on everyboard, for example on /tv/ it's "kinos for this feel" or "movies in which the protagonist *blank*"

This format of website just isn't that conducive to high-end discussion. Threads are insubstantial, cheap to produce and easily washed away. Not the kind of environment where you really want to put in a lot of effort. This is why screencaps are common, it's the only way to make an effortpost worthwhile.

It's great for quick, witty discussion of pop media, not so great for anything else.
