No shit. Socrates ruined philosophy by making the rational the ontological starting point of western philosophy.

>"Even the loftiest philosophy of the Europeans, the idealism of reason, as it is set forth by Greek philosophers, appears in comparison with the abundant light and vigor of Oriental idealism, like a feeble Promethean spark in the full flood of heavenly glory of the noonday sun—faltering and feeble, and ever ready to be extinguished."
- Friedrich von Schlegel (1772 – 1829)

>"When we read with attention the poetical and philosophical monuments of the East, above all, those of India, which are beginning to spread in Europe, we discover there many a truth, and truths so profound, and which make such a contrast with the meanness of the results at which the European genius has sometimes stopped, that we are constrained to bend the knee before the philosophy of the East, and to see in this cradle of the human race the native land of the highest philosophy."
- Victor Cousin (1792 – 1867)

>"It is impossible to read the Vedanta, or the many fine compositions in illustration of it, without believing that Pythagoras and Plato derived their sublime theories from the same fountain with the sages of India."
- Sir William Jones ( 1746 – 1794)

>"Vedanta is the most sublime of all philosophies, and the most comforting of all religions. If philosophy is meant to be a preparation for a happy death, or Euthanasia, I know of no better preparation for it than the Vedanta philosophy."
>"I spend my happiest hours in reading Vedantic books. They are to me like the light of the morning, like the pure air of the mountains - so simple, so true, if once understood."
- Max Muller (1823 – 1900)

>"In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavat Geeta, since whose composition years of the gods have elapsed, and in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial…"
- Henry David Thoreau (1817 – 1862)

>(The Bhagavad Gita is) "The most beautiful, perhaps the only true philosophical song existing in any known tongue ....perhaps the deepest and loftiest thing the world has to show."
- Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767 – 1835)

>"I owed a magnificent day to the Bhagavad-gita. It was the first of books; it was as if an empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the same questions which exercise us."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 – 1882)

>"In the whole world there is no study so beneficial and so elevating as that of the Upanishads. It has been the solace of my life -- it will be the solace of my death. "
- Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 – 1860)

Hello /lit

My name is anonymous,

I have been gone for a few years, because stuff and basically depressionwent away.

I come back with a .. vision. No less.

Bullshit aside, I always wanted to do something a little crazy and most likely impossible but whatever, we might have a little fun if we try.

I wanna co-write a magical realist novel with you guys.

Yeah, I know, this is completely unrelated to the thread but fuck it, I like hindus.

So, yeah, I've been into metamodernism for the last few... hours.

It kinda unlocked a perspective in me or some shit.

Also, I digged into the writer's journey by cristopher vogel.

Long story short, I laid out the lines for a story we could co-write, for fun.

If it is to ever happen, in anyway possible, it will require extreme levels of funtism.

I put my graph depicting the big turns of the story in the pic related and can elaborate as to my general view, although I'm mostly interested in what you guys have to say.

PS : I'm willing to put in as much effort as : making a thread dedicated to this everyday or some shit. Don't expect much more.

The way I see it, but I'm open to different stuff (no, not gay sex in a weird motel) :

Some eternally young cyborg dude lives in kind of modern heaven, think of some robot appolo on a technological mount olympus or whatever.

He is called to a game of dice or something by someone who wants to fuck himover, or maybe not.

The bet being his eternal youth, he is kinda scared and bitches away.

Pan kicks in and tells him that fear is the promise of no future, it is a cancer in and of itself. Long story short our hero has just caught cancer and is gonna fucking die.

-moving from modern utopia to postmodern distopia -

he somehow ends up between two armies, one made up of genderless sjw cyborgs that are very loud and deny everything about the reality of life, and also are very good at inventing over complex and meaningless labels to identify themselves.
On the other side is an army of pepes, that fucking laugh at everything and just want to fuck the cyborgs.

Stuck between the degenarates and the frog-patriarchy, our anti-hero has nothing to do but fucking oscillate between the two, going from one side to the other, kinda stuck and anoyed at this fucking bullshit.

Through this ordeal, he discovers his power, that he can listen and kinda learn to "love" (i know, its a big word), the two clans.

Ultimately, through mediating through all this bullshit, he matures and obtains, somehow, the rainbow, which symbolizes no fucks given and also informed naiveté, neo-romance and ultimately magical realism)

with this rainbow in hand -think the bow if Indra -yep, i just made an hindu reference-, he heals from cancer,

all the while, pan, symbolizing nature and reality at large, was suffering from stage 4 cancer -which is how he could diagnose the hero in the first place, he went through the same shit-

The hero, the pepe frogs, the genderless cyborgs and all these happy faggots save pan by making original art and stop their fucking endless argumennts, they co-create a magical realist art piece.

Back to square one, the hero is eternally young again, but he made friends on the way and had a good time.
