This is perhaps a ridiculous thing to say but once when I went to idea I met a priest at a local Hindu temple in Delhi. I was overwhelmed by the energy or aura (I know, bear with me) around him. It was like looking at space and realizing how incredibly small you are and yet how incredibly important you are. It's been many years but I still think about that Hindu priest I met for only 5 minutes. Anyway, is there any writings on this phenomenon?
It was so dream-like yet the feeling I had was undoubtedly real.

Are you talking about something similar to deja vu or soulmates/love at first sight? Did you talk to him?

Does anyone have a good introduction to Buddhism, preferably written by a mahayanist or vajrayanist?
I'm not asking for myself, I took a sort of indirect and all over the place approach, and so when people ask me where to start with Buddhism, I never know what to say.
It would be good if it talked about things like
>the story of the Buddha
>four noble truths
>noble eightfold path
>four dharma seals
>dependent origination
>shunyata
At least in some capacity. Is there such a book?

Reminder that Shankara has been called a crypto-Buddhist by other Hindus for over a thousand years, and most mainstream scholars today agree with this assessment.

Shankara not only appropriated the whole framework of Nagarjuna's Buddhism, his "teacher's teacher," the earliest recorded Advaitin, Gaudapada, is widely considered to have outright PLAGIARIZED Nagarjuna.

probably because the other thread will get deleted/archived soon so guenonfag has to resort to his old formula of inserting guenon in an 'eastern thought' general. Pic related

No, not like soulmates. It was like meeting someone who was genuinely enlightened. Like he was complete and existing outside the mundane.
I did, he was very charismatic. I spoke to him in broken Hindi but it seemed like he knew what I was trying to say. He tied a Mauli thread around my wrist and gave me his blessings.

This one is pricey but is complete/unabridged, has a pretty thorough introduction which reviews a lot of the ideas, and is the product of a team effort by a professor and a Swami.
