Only part of the theology is really associated with Judaism. This was doubly true in the Western Roman Empire, where the expansion of Christian ideology took root much later than it did in the Greek and Levantine world. The "flexibility" of Western Christianity meant that many of the original traditions associated with Abrahamic faith had to either adapt or be tossed out in order to be adopted by the locals. Eventually, the faith became so twisted and malleable that pagan influences held more impact on Christianity than Judaism, save for the source text and the monotheistic nature of the faith.

Incidentally, much of the regional variations on Christianity is what led to the split between Roman and Orthodox Catholic traditions. Orthodoxy was an attempt to maintain a conservative Christian culture, whereas Catholicism was considered more of a "liberal" school of thought.
