Is a diary a good idea? What if I feel like a fag? What if I cringe at what I write?

All writers cringe at what they wrote and feel like fags, that's why so many of them commit suicide.

I keep a diary/journal on my laptop and I think it's cool. It's opportunity for you to be honest with yourself instead of having to think about what's "cringe" (don't worry, others are probably never going to read or give a shit about your diary). It's very fun because you can look back and see what you were really like back X amount of years ago instead of it fading slowly to memory.

That would give me a panic attack. I cringe thinking about what I was thinking about last week.

same. I'm so neurotic I sometimes have panic attacks recalling the cringe things I've said and done years in the past.

It helps get some things off your chest, etc. even when there's no one to listen. You shouldn't care what is "cringe", try to understand the frame of mind you had when you wrote it and learn something from it. Regardless of self-reflection, it's interesting to see how you have changed over time.

I think the beat part about a diary is that it is a solid record of memory. Something that i think its noteworthy today will most likely get pushed to the back of my mind and forgotten before long. By keeping a journal, I am cementing all the information and events that I want to keep. In 5 years I will still be able to re-live an experience and ponder a thought that I had
