So, why has there been an influx of decidedly non-/lit/ anons? Was it the top 100 that brought the fools to the fore? Not a fortnight prior there was no great deal of politically charged posts, and it is clear there are a number of relatively illiterate contributors mucking up the board. Has anyone else noted this intolerable shift away from the typical persiflage extant within the demesne of true /lit/izenry?
By what metric might one assess these changes, and how long might one expect such a metamorphosis last?

If I am left behind, it is a result of my active pursuit of literature that only seems to occur in the past, but my own experience in all this is fairly irrelevant. What is more interesting is the shift itself, and what the possible reasons for it might be. Rather, what is potent enough an incentive for people of this sort to invade such an inveterately mild board? Also, how might one use this influence to afford this mass of nitwits a bit of literary guidance that benefits them, attenuates this fear and ignorance, and even induces a sort of migration from those hovels of foolishness they tend to inhabit? Can they be subsumed and subsequently enriched by literary sublimation? Or is there insufficient influence in /lit/ to instill inhibition of iniquity?

reddit roasties advertise this site in their cesspit is my guess

/lit/'s content (memes, ideas, books) is becoming more and more popular among the wide audience (partially thanks to /pol/). You can see references everywhere, even if they don't name the board. And more popularity leads to more newfags. At this point we have /tv/-tier forced memes.

>>14413624
Nah, there is no advertising, and in fact reddit's dominant culture despises /lit/. The concealed alt-right side of the site however is very naturally attracted to this board.

I have noticed a huge influx onto /lit/, /ck/ and /tv/ (worse than normal even on /tv/) of this rubbish. Thinly veiled tripe of the "Any good books about..." variety, with blstsntly ubreksted/pornographic OP post cs and no discussion. /ck/, which is usually alright for this stuff, is being overwhelmed because it is a slow board. Even if we can't do anything about it, don't worry OP, you aren't going crazy and it is real. Ignore them until they fuck off

well, I knew I wasn't crazy, just was curious about the catalyst. I have seen such invasions occur on occasion, but had never been able to determine what attracted the tourists. My best guess is the proliferation of the top 100, it's often one of the only things this board is capable of contributing that makes any sort of ripples.

The 2020 U.S. elections. 4chan has become fully coopted by the conservative propaganda machine by various interests. Its role is to crowdsource the generation of fake news narratives to be turned into content that is then pushed on facebook, reddit, and other social media.
Notice how many threads there are now that try to push conflict, such as X philosopher vs. Y philosopher, how such and such genre is for "bad people" or whatever. It's not entirely artificial but the fans are being flamed by paid agents to encourage the meme machine.

Seeing you guys react to people disagreeing with you with conspiracies about propaganda campaigns is hilarious. You're actually so used to your platforms censoring these opinions that when you see them the only conclusion you can draw is that it's some conspiracy.

I came here from /pol/. My home board was fully co-opted by boomers for Trump.

Trump is literally Zionist Israel Firster. We might as well have elected Ben Shapiro president, and a big part of /pol/ unironically still shills for Trump.

Why here instead of some other board? I have no interest in any other board but /g/ and that board is generally insufferable. Tech is surprisingly more pozzed than lit. I'm here to anonymously argue about ideas without constraints. The Overton window does not exist on 4chan. There are no mechanisms for peer pressure. There is no hivemind to down vote wrong think out of view and mods never step in unless there is an egregious violation of the rules. There are no grandstanding assholes trying to virtue signal for the maximum amount of exposure. There are no e-thots pretending their social media presence is intellectual when really it's an avenue to get attention via jiggling around on camera. There is very little id-pol nonsense when everyone is anonymous.

This place is effectively the anti-reddit or the anti-twitter, and that's the draw. Online discussions without the Orwellian extras.

The internet is over, death by normie invasion due to social media and smartphone culture (same thing.) Where the normies go, the politicians follow, and politics ruins absolutely fucking everything it touches. It will only get worse.

You don't. Also there is an extremely high change that 4chan is bought and paid for by extreme right-wing interests, or is at least sympathetic to them. Nazi trolls are allowed to break the rules with impunity. This is a completely hostile environment, only useful for learning about such hostile environments.
