Either way we get a totalitarian fusion of corporate and political power. The systems produced are materially indistinguishable. No matter which direction goes, you get rulership by oligarchy. The only difference is that in one system the initial oligarchy is made up of industry tycoons and in the other the initial oligarchy is made up of revolutionary political appointees.

I think this is partly why communist societies have a lot of trouble in their beginnings. The appointees don't know as much about running industry as the tycoons who amassed power themselves. But eventually communism stabilizes and the horrors end.

Both systems stabilize in roughly the same place with roughly the same rulers and roughly the same repressive nature. The only thing that changes are the ideologies we pay lip service to and the symbols they inspire in our culture. The material conditions of life are similar. Work or starve. When you get sick, maybe you get healthcare, depending on class. Very little time off as those at the top squeeze everyone else to produce as much as possible so they can, both to increase the wealth of those at the top and to keep everyone else too exhausted to critically examine any of these structures.

If you go online, it's worse. Faded boomer communists who didn't do anything in the 1980s and 1990s when they were students roleplaying as communists themselves. So why would they do anything now?

Was watching a talk by Brenner recently and he ended it by saying "the only thing that will fix this is a communist revolution" and everybody cheered. You know what made leftism possible up to the 1920s? The Social Democratic Party in Germany, which was a viable mass political party and virtually a state within a state, something that can never happen again because now the system co-opts any parties and spits them back out in a neutered form, which is exactly what happened to the SDP. That, and the fact that the proletariat was actually into materialist metaphysics that dovetailed with dialectical materialism between 1870 and 1920, of its own accord. You can never recover those special circumstances. Their interest in writers like Marx was a symptom of the context that gave rise of the SDP, not the cause.

Every subsequent communism was just totalitarian, or a romantic socialism riding on the back of its elan vital, AKA fascism. Communism was historically contingent. Reading Marx is not going to help you liquidate the banking class, or maybe it will help you with some motivation, but it's not going to help the guy who drives the bus. /lit/ has always been too traditionalist and had too much reverence for the classics to be fully communist. Threads on it, as well as on different ideologues, were present of course, but the board itself wasn't wasn't particularly political before 2016. Since then the /pol/ immigration resulted in a shift towards both facism and right-wing ideologues, while simultaneously causing a huge decrease in the quality of discussions about these. Discussions about facism became difficult as they were now filled with buzzwords and vague support towards ideas of which no-one in the threads had any understanding. This was followed by a /leftypol/ counterinvasion, the purpose of which was, I suppose, to balance the scales, but it only resulted in screeching and further misunderstanding of the topics. In their defence they seem to be at least somewhat—but not very—familiar with the basics of some leftist political theories, which is more than what can be said about /pol/acks. That said, I think together they form the cancer killing this board and I want them both gone.
I would even be willing to accept a wholesale ban on politics, since even though it would prevent good discussions about political theories and historical movements, these do not appear to be possible anyway.

We'll export real production to those countries, then back home in the first world, we'll make "work" cushier and cushier by turning it into a "service economy" where you're high on designer drugs (recreational or prescription) 24/7 and encouraged to become a literally feminized gimp in "open relationships" and eating processed sugar all day, so that all pressure to rebel is removed.

Now we have a perfect bifurcation of educated-but-docile Outer Party serfs in the original homelands of industry, and all the real industry itself has been exported to the third world, where we can revert to the worst pre-union working conditions of the industrial revolution and nobody gives a fuck. Me reading Hellenism, me learning Greek and Latin, me joining Bible study at my local latin church (not a christian, just need the serious study of it), me hitting the gym, deprogramming from all social media, playing with the kids and family more - that's gonna do a whole lot of good to insulate my tribe against the pozz and degeneracy.

Plus literature is just good for the soul. You can't not read Calvino or Melville or Austen, and not feel more whole and divine afterwards.

Why fascism and not, say, monarchism? Why not nihilism? I'm not a leftist faggot, but I don't see why fascism is particularly the natural order over other systems. Monarchism, the automatic hereditary hierarchy which can only be overthrown by force or power, is surely the most natural order of things: it's only unpopular with fascists because under such a system, most fascists would be little more than serfs.

But why even monarchism? Why not direct nihilism & anarchy? The ultimate natural order is no order whatsoever, a chaotic mess of small tribes with random societies where everyone does whatever and there is no higher meaning or compass. No other animals look to the sky and wonder about their existence, and the fact that humans can is an accident, not a stringent, logical, necessary outcome of evolution. There is no guiding hand.

We already live in an anarchic, nihilist universe. To say that fascism is correct because it's inevitable ignores not only current reality, but literally everything else in nature. Fascism is fine because some people gravitate towards it. Violence is fine because it's part of nature. Communism is fine because some tribes do succeed with it, and it would be fine even if they didn't because there is no ultimate meaning: that's the hard truth. All civilisations and societies will eventually be levelled by the gradual understanding that living in a society places artificial restrictions with no ultimate benefit. Society only continues to exist by believing in things like the afterlife or God or "the natural order of fascism" or the sanctity of the tribe (nationalism, whiteness). Atheism and areligiosity are the beginning of this process.

Yeah i got some similar experiences back when i was with a Trotskyist group in a very progressive Dutch student city. Barely anyone read Marx, and it felt like i constantly had to walk on egg shells. There were a couple of people from worker backgrounds and another couple who wanted to interact with workers, but they were the exception, and it seemed like idpol had completely consumed everything. And unlike idpol on the right, this idpol completely stifled anything resembling a mass movement.

Why is fascism more natural than that?
