I'm convinced that the answers which would identify an INTP happen to coincide with those given by lazy retards. Aren't INTPs supposed to be the highest IQ type? Then why are they all over /r9k/ and /pol/?

You lack the intelligence to see that this does not coincide strictly with intelligence.

You're probably correct, but do you know what INTP stands for? The N stands for Intuition, which, in essence, describes creativity. The T stands for Thinking, which specifically refers to logical thinking. By definition, INTP is a creative person highly adept at using logic. The type doesn't just correlate with intelligence, it describes it.

According to the theory these are functions to be cultivated. Meaning that, for example, the INTP has Introverted Thinking as his most developed function, and Extroverted Intuition as his second. This is inherent in the theory, which you may accept or reject (frankly I don't care), but you can't say MBTI doesn't imply this and still be correct.

I wasn't talking about that however you're still wrong, the original mbti stresses the equality of all functions, that is in ultimate value and not individual priority. I honestly prefer Jung's original typology however.

I think lowering all ENTPs to the level of Shapiro isn't fair. Philosophy needs ENTP's criticism as much as INTP's construction in order to progress. Socrates is a great example of this. If he had merely posited more speculative theories like the rest of Presocratics then Plato wouldn't have thought of epistemic problems and Philosophy would have remained where it was.

I’d have to agree that every type seeks validation from a different avenue. As an infp, I think we tend to posture our interests/morals and can come off as supercilious. Earnestly pretentious is how I’d word it, we’re not trying to impress you with the books we’re reading, but what we think about them.

Enfps are the brand of pretentious that gets a literary tattoo, whereas an infp is the one that’s actively recommending poetry collections to you.
